Title :
Fractal structure of alternate T waves by wavelet analysis
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Multiresolution analysis using a 24 coefficient symmetrical Coiflet wavelet measured the amplitude of 4 frequency bands between 4 to 64 Hz within alternate orthogonal T wave sequences, in 7 scarred post infarction patients (Gpl) without history of malignant arrhythmia (MA) and 9 post infarction patients with implanted defibrillators for MA (Gp2). The multifractal index measured as the variances of three gradients of log-amplitude/log-frequency between 4 frequency bands showed no significant difference between the mean vectored variances of fractal gradients of alternate T wave sequences within and between Gpl and Gp2. Both group´s magnitude of mean fractal gradient variance between 4-8 Hz and 8-16 Hz was half the magnitude of variance between other bands. Both groups showed fixed multifractal behaviour
