Based on data obtained from 89 educational employees in China, the study reported here examined a model of work ethic as determinant of organizational citizenship behaviors. Regression analyses were used to examine the hypothesized relationships. Two findings were salient. First, there was a significantly positive correlation between work ethic and organizational citizenship behaviors; Second, contractor exhibited lower extra-role (citizenship) behaviors than permanent educational professional. Lastly, limitations of the study are discussed.
