Abstract
Provides an insight into techniques currently used to produce microwave reflector antennas with very low passive intermodulation products (PIMP) production. Although the principles expounded are generally accepted, the author concentrates on antennas for satellite ground station application. To give a perspective, modern microwave antennas are in some applications required to give a performance of around 120 to 150 dB down on carriers with powers ranging from a few hundred watts to several kilowatts per channel. For the tightest specifications, even small contributions to PIMP must be considered
