Abstract :
The Atlantic Remote Sensing Land Ocean Experiment (ARSLOE) held 6 October to 30 November 1980 near Duck, North Carolina, provided a large data base of wave measurements for wave sensor intercomparison. The primary experiment site was a 30 by 36 kilometer rectangle centered on the CERC Field Research Facility and extending from the shore to a depth of about 40 meters. Three Side Looking Airborne Radar (SLAR) data sets during a major storm were compared with a directional buoy and show general wave directional agreement.
