Abstract :
The efficiency of polarization methods is largely dependent on prior knowledge of the main object characteristics of their scattering matrix. Problems connected with establishing inner ratios which correlate elements of the scattering matrix are of paramount importance. To determine such a correlation it is useful as a starting point to choose a polarization basis in which the scattering matrix is diagonal. If this matrix is congruently transformed, then it is possible by means of direct calculations to obtain a correlation which can be called a basic equation for the scattering matrix elements. Using the proposed approach it is possible to obtain a strict expression for the complete cross section and the anisotropy of a radar object.<>
