Abstract
In situ current, temperature and conductivity monitoring techniques are described which have been designed to provide long-term data collection at three mooring sites in the harsh ocean environment of Georges Bank. The combination semitaut and slack instrument moorings are reviewed, which permit current measurements from the ocean bottom to surface. Reliability and percent data return is discussed on the data set obtained for six months starting January 1, 1982 for the one year monitoring program. An overview of the oceanographic features of the data is presented.
