Abstract
This paper focuses on computer support in identifying, deriving and applying mathematical models of real systems. In an extension of standard methods for identification of linear systems, this paper deals with identification of nonlinear systems. Since such a task is tedious not only due to the conceptual understanding, but also due to the required calculations, student needs a lot of computer support enabling to concentrate on main design tasks. This paper describes our experience in developing client-server application, which allows remote access to the real systems. It offers support in identifying parameters of its linear or nonlinear models, and in running experiments with controller based on the identified parameters of the particular model.
