Abstract :
Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks require the exchange of vehicle information including the location information and event notifications. The legitimate vehicles need to be prevented from sending the spurious event alerts or any fraudulent information to its neighbours. Therefore, misbehaviour detection and prevention mechanisms are vital to safeguard vehicular communications from the broadcast of false information. A new misbehaviour detection scheme is proposed in this paper where a Decision Inference System (DIS) is designed for the dissemination of correct information. The model employs the use of XML dependency tree where Trusted Central Authority collects and validates the information received from the vehicles as well as RSUs. The proposed countermeasures are proven to be efficient in detecting and blocking the internal attacks from sharing the false warning messages.
