  • Abstract
Superconductors have proven potential for microwave applications, both for passive structures like cavities, filters and transmission lines, and for active devices, such as mixers, detectors, amplifiers and signal sources. The author examines the present status and prospects of such active devices based on high transition temperature (high-Tc ) superconducting tunnel junctions
