Abstract
A new method is proposed for ARMA (autoregressive moving average) filter design from time-domain specifications. The method is based on the inverse filter error criterion and the optimal set of coefficients is obtained from the solution of a linear system of equations. The new method is not iterative, is very simple to apply, and leads to results as good (same mean square error) as or even better than previously proposed methods
