Abstract

Incorporating culture in the foreign language classroom is a major challenge to teachers due to geographical distance and lack of contact with native speakers. The teaching material available does not necessarily meet the requirements of learners from a particular country or a region. This paper presents results of using material developed for teaching German as a foreign language in Sri Lanka including a text book and a DVD with authentic images, videos, and interactive web-based activities.
