Abstract :
New results for sigma-delta modulator (SDM) modeling are presented. The noise performance, i.e. SNR of an SDM, is solved using a linear model with an additive noise source. The relations are derived by identifying a proper invariant for the quantizer. An accurate model for baseband characteristics of SDM is still lacking due to the nonlinearity of the 1-b quantizer. The frequency response relations of the baseband of the SDM is found to be non-trivial
