Abstract
Flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) are simulated using closed loop control systems. The technique used is based on the mean value analysis of queues (MVAQ). Such a simulation technique provides for the prescriptive analysis of FMS as opposed to the predictive techniques which have been used to study FMS. The simulation technique is implemented on a distributed control system (DCS) and is illustrated through examples
