Abstract
A DC-DC power converter of 18 kW capacity for converting 110 DC voltage available in railway coaches to 675 V DC for feeding variable frequency inverter is presented in this paper. The converter uses push-pull inverter transformer rectifier scheme to provide galvanic isolation between input and output and uses IGBTs along with lossless snubber circuits to switch at 8 kHz
