Abstract :
The mass concrete structures usually generate surface and through cracks due to the variation of temperature and moisture, also the shrinkage and foundation restraint, then affect the use of whole building. Based on the monitored data of a thick concrete base plate in a deep foundation of Shanghai Qingcaosha Raw Water Engineering, expounds the classification and mechanism of temperature cracks and use the practical calculating method calculate the self-restraining stress and outer restraining stress, the results of comparative test data to prove safe and reliable. At last, some suggestions were put forward for the control of temperature stress for mass concrete of base plate.
