Abstract
Subband adaptive arrays (SBAA) have been proposed as an effective mean replacing tapped delay line adaptive array antennas (TDLAA) to mitigate inter-symbol interference (ISI), caused by multipath propagation, and co-channel interference (CCI), caused by frequency reuse in neighbor cells. The subband processing is based on the decomposition of the frequency band of the received signal into a number of subbands, which are analyzed separately for improvement of the signal-to-interfere-ce-plus-noise ratio (SINR). These bands are then recombined to get the output signal with maximum SINR. In this paper, we study the performance of SBAA for faded signals in presence of interference and multipath environment.
