Abstract :
A wideband CMOS LNA for PCS 1900 and WCDMA is presented. The design circuit uses conventional configuration with an additional capacitance. This method is mainly used to optimize the noise performance of LNA. This paper explored the method´s application in 3rd generation receiver, which is capable of adapting to the various communications standards in a low-cost CMOS technology. One of the advantages of the method is the simplicity of the circuit compared to other wideband LNA implementation. The design is implemented in a 0.18μm TSMC CMOS technology. In the simulation, the 200MHz bandwidth of interest and a total 560 MHz bandwidth are well matched. Additionally, the power consumption of the circuit is less than 7mW from a supply voltage of 1.8V.
