  • Abstract
This paper presents a circuit of voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) with a centretap inductance LC-tank based on standard 0.13μm CMOS process. In this VCO circuit a cross coupled structure is adopted, which is filtered by an LC filter. In the LC filter a symmetric centretap inductance is connected with an accumulation-mode MOS varactor in parallel, which helps decrease the phase noise. The phase noise is about -113.7dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset from carrier frequency of 5.5GHz, and the tunable frequency varies approximately from 5GHz to 6GHz.
