Abstract :
Describes work carried out by the UK Knowledge Engineering Group of Coopers and Lybrand, in providing expert system support for the substantive test program used when planning an audit. An expert system called Expertest was developed. Its aims were to reduce the skill level required to complete a substantive test programme and to speed the completion of the substantive test programme when performed by experienced staff. The author also looks at their Knowledge Based Maintenance System
