Abstract :
A high quality factor (Q) unshielded ceramic dielectric resonator fed by a tapered coplanar waveguide and coupled through spiral slot structure designed at 8.5 GHz on RT-Duroid substrate is reported in this letter. Experimental Q × f obtained by using polycrystalline ceramics of CaTiO3-NdAlO3 (CTNA) and Ba(Zn1/3Ta2/3)O3 (BZT) dielectric pucks are 18,244.06 GHz and 72,055.20 GHz respectively. Results of the planar coupling method to DR are compared with the quality factors obtained by using cavity method for same dielectric samples.
