Abstract
In this paper, the method of imposing nulls and side lobe suppression in the radiation pattern of an antenna array is discussed using Real Coded Genetic Algorithm (RGA). Linear symmetric antenna array is considered. The GA adjusts the excitation amplitude of each radiating element to impose a null in the desired direction. MATLAB is used to code GA in order to facilitate the realization. Various simulated results are presented by considering particular one and two desired nulls.
