Abstract :
The results presented are based on many years of experience of development and application of DYANA-an environment for the analysis of multiprocessor computer system operation. The architecture and basic features of such an environment are discussed. The main problems arising during such an environment´s design are highlighted and possible solutions are shown. The key features of the DYANA environment are: the possibility of both quantitative and algorithmic analysis of the system to be modeled; the time complexity estimation subsystem which helps to avoid instruction-level simulation of the target computer system; and support of program development through simulation
