Abstract :
The performance of amplify-and-forward protocol under different combining methods in wireless cooperative diversity systems is studied. An enhanced signal-to-noise ratio combining method is considered. Compared with the optimum SNR combining, the enhanced SNR combining employs the average SNR instead of instantaneous SNR The performance of enhanced SNR combining is near to that of optimum SNR combining in amplify-and-forward protocol. The enhanced signal-to-noise ratio combining could reduce the complexity of receiver in cooperative diversity systems.
