Abstract :
Summary form only given. In this work, we report on 2.5-Gbit/s non-return to zero (NRZ) pseudo-random bit sequence (PRBS) transmission with 2/sup 33/-1 word length using GaAs VCSEL and 120-/spl mu/m core diameter POF. The bit error rate (BER) remains below 10-/sup 11/ after transmission over l-m small core diameter polymer optical fibre (POF).
