Abstract
In this paper an ultra-wideband filter is designed using periodic defected ground structures as low pass filter and Slot SRRs in the conducting strip as a band reject filter to prevent interference from WLAN. The high pass characteristic is obtained by an interdigital capacitor in the conducting strip. The average insertion loss is 1.6 dB in the passband. The band stop filter rejects frequencies from 5.21 GHz to 5.9 GHz with maximum rejection being -33.46 dB at 5.4 GHz and stopband rejection is upto -68.61 dB and -60 dB in the upper and lower stop-bands respectively.
