Abstract :
In this paper, an analytical approach for estimation of axial magnetic field produced by an axially magnetized permanent ring magnet is presented. The approach is applicable for both linear as well as non-linear demagnetization characteristics of ring magnets. The axial magnetic fields of a ring magnet, with linear demagnetization characteristics (e.g. SmCo5) and that with non-linear demagnetization characteristics (e.g. AlNiCo-5, AlNiCo-8 and Ceramic-5) have been computed using the present formulation. The analytical results are compared with the FEM simulated results and the experimentally measured results and the comparison show a very good agreement.
