Abstract :
The problem of representing a manager´s general problem environment is addressed. A traditional funds flow model embedded in an objected-oriented programming environment is suggested as a potentially robust approach to modeling the managerial problem domain. Methods from qualitative causal modeling and structural modeling are incorporated. The resulting design appears to have attractive properties, including focused hypothesis generation and the ability to derive behavior from structure
