Abstract
The authors present an in-place procedure for efficiently computing the LPC (linear predictive coding) parameters of a speech signal. The most distinct feature of the in-place deduction is that temporary or scratch-pad registers are not needed for buffering the intermediate results, for the same set of input registers is used as the output registers for holding the recursion results. Therefore, it not only requires small memory size, but also reduces the computation efforts by getting rid of the data transfer operation
