Abstract
This paper briefly describes basic practical steps for object technology adoption in an industrial software development environment. The environment is considered standard: an ISO 9000 certified software development process is assumed. A number of success factors are defined and the author considers how they are achieved, and what can be going wrong. The analysis of the factors is based on experience gained from various software development projects and illustrated by real examples
