  • Abstract
In the past decade, there has been a dramatic increase in both power system electromagnetic influence, and in the susceptibility of the affected systems (e.g. power customers´ equipment and telecommunications/control systems). This has prompted a need for deeper and more extensive knowledge of interference mechanisms, mitigation and coordination. The author describes the efforts of the power and telecommunications industries in Canada to improve the electrical interference mitigation and coordination, the history behind the Canadian Electrical Coordination Guide, the supporting research work and gives a brief synopsis of the Guide contents
