Abstract :
In this paper a new type of control technique which involves maintaining of the internal power factor angle of permanent magnet synchronous motor at a constant value for getting fast dynamic response is proposed. A mathematical model, based on which the concept of constant internal power factor angle has been derived, is presented, a fixed frequency hysteresis type PWM inverter fed surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor drive with constant internal power factor angle control has been simulated and the results of simulation show that it is possible to obtain as good a performance as that of a vector controlled permanent magnet synchronous motor drive
