Quick splicing of MV extruded cables laid in rural areas

Quick splicing proves particularly useful when laying long lengths of power cables in rural areas because cable drums are speedily connected up to one another without any slowing down in cable laying. Splices are made ahead of the cable-laying machine and descend and are laid into the trench at the same time as the cable. Connectors and splices currently used are described by the authors as are trials on the network
