Abstract
The growing use of rectifiers and electronic power converters increases the amount of harmonic voltages in the mains system. This is not only caused by some great power units but also by many small rectifiers used for power supply of electronic equipment. The distortion of the mains voltage by the fifth harmonic due to TV-sets, for example, is well known. A special rectifier-circuit equipped with GTO-thyristors is presented, which is adapted to compensate simultaneously rapidly changing harmonic currents of different order, as well as unbalance and reactive power of the fundamental
