Abstract :
The authors present a variable step-size scheme that speeds up the convergence process of a general class of stochastic-gradient-based blind equalization algorithms. Four stochastic-gradient-type algorithms that are available for blind adaptive equalization are presented, and the variable step-size scheme for these algorithms is introduced. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the significant improvements in the convergence rates that are obtained using this variable step-size scheme
