Abstract :
In Ad Hoc networks, to achieve successful communication it is necessary to suppress transmissions of nodes in the near vicinity of desired receiver. It is important to employ exclusion region (Guard zone) in order to limit the interference caused by the neighboring nodes (Transmitters) to the receiver. Interference is an important consideration especially while evaluating the performance of Ad Hoc networks. The incorporation of exclusion region helps in improving the networks capacity. Previously the spatial geometry of scheduled nodes has not been understood well. In this paper we analyze the spatial properties of scheduled nodes with the help of point pattern analysis. The point pattern analysis can facilitate in providing information about location of nodes as well as in identifying any existence of clustering in a particular area. We have determined and analyzed the spatial characteristics of the scheduled nodes for a considerable varying guard zone sizes with the help of nearest neighbor distance estimator functions.
