Review Summary Of The U.R.I. Satellite Sea Surface Temperature Workshop Sept. 1982

A four day workshop specifically addressing the problems of sea surface temperature retrieval from spacecraft was convened at the University of Rhode Island in Sept. 1982. Participants represented experienced users of satellite data from all major U.S. satellite oceanographic research groups and several european groups. Findings of the workshop, which included discovery of a new error source due to subpixel cloud contamination, will be reviewed. A presentation and explanantion of the workshop recommendations is made.
