Abstract :
Gong-Che notation (GCN) is a Chinese traditional music notation, in these scores of digital images, single music information is independence connected region each other. This paper brings forward a new algorithm for capturing to a rectangle box of each connected region in Gong-Che notation score image. Firstly, it selects randomly a seed from this region, the seed is the minimal rectangle close box, then the four borders of the rectangle box extends in turn by anticlockwise rotation, each border extends one pixel every time, if it has a pixel which value equal the seed value in the extended border, then the extended border is new border, if the four border of the rectangle box all don´t extend, the rectangle box is the minimal rectangle box which encircle the region; the result of experiment indicates that the algorithm can divide the music symbol from Gong-Che Notation.
