Abstract :
Resonant inverters have gained more popularity in recent times because they offer many advantages over hard-switched PWM inverters. This paper deals with the analysis, simulation and implementation of a single phase integral pulse modulated quasi-resonant inverter (IPM-QRI) with R and R-L loads. A control strategy to obtain high frequency quasi-sinusoidal waveform with zero voltage switching (ZVS) is presented. This operation results in reduction of switching losses and switching stresses in the power devices. The performance of an IPM-QRI with the proposed operational modes was determined by simulation using PSPICE. The results obtained from the computer simulation are in agreement with the experimental data
