Direct feeding of wet sticky raw materials to large roller mills

Direct feeding of cement mills with wet sticky materials has long been difficult because of the risk of blockage in the feed system and the resulting shut down of the mill and upset to the process. In-leak of cold air has also been a consideration which has led to the more common practice of pre-drying materials before grinding.
