The Quest programme was initiated in November 1986 by Plessey with the following objectives: improve the quality of engineering; increase the use of methods and tools which improve the systems engineering practices; co-ordinate change to reduce diversification, concentrate resources, increase effectiveness; enable tighter integration of software, hardware and systems development practices
