Abstract :
For some years now there has been considerable interest in comparing the true ownership costs of tetrode and klystron UHF TV transmitters. This interest recently intensified with the advent of the all-solid-state transmitters up to the 40 kW peak sync level (PS). The author has attempted to arrive at the comparative ownership costs of the three types of transmitter and to show which is the most economically advantageous to the operator at the 5, 10 and 15 kW peak sync levels
