Abstract
The IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistor) is a power electronic device capable of operating efficiently at high frequencies, particularly in a DC chopper. The waveforms and performance characteristics of a DC chopper built using the IGBT are obtained with the help of a digital storage oscilloscope and personal computer software. The harmonic characteristics of load current waveform and the variation of output voltage with duty cycle are also obtained
