After a brief introduction the importance of tool condition monitoring, the paper derived the relationship between the spindle current and tool wear theoretically. The design of the test current signal detection system, through experiments by the main current and the corresponding tool wear data, using least squares fitting by the linear relationship between the two type. Through the remainder of the standard deviation calculation, test the accuracy of the formula.
