Title :
Configurable instrumentation for eddy current testing

Abstract :
The National Nondestructive Testing Centre´s involvement in eddy current testing covers two mutually beneficial areas. New eddy current testing techniques are developed within basic research programmes. Advanced computing tools, such as finite element modelling in three dimensions, are employed to assist in this development work. The other side to the work is the application of both new and existing techniques to meet customers´ inspection needs. Broadly breaking, customers bring requirements either for difficult inspections or for inspections which are unconventional. The latter may be from industries inexperienced in eddy current testing and where less highly trained personnel will carry out the inspections
