Abstract
The majority of manufacturers and research establishments are working on alternatives to whole vehicle tests, mostly based either on TEM cells or bulk current injection. When attempting to correlate the results from these component tests with those from a whole vehicle test, it is tempting to attribute any poor correlation to the inaccuracy of the component test method. However, having discussed the problems in accurately defining the results from a whole vehicle test, one can see that these must be considered very carefully before making comparisons. In many cases, the `errors´ may be due to the whole vehicle test, and not the component test
