  • Abstract
The authors present a decomposition technique that synthesizes a multiplexer by realizing individual two-port equalizers. The technique described is to develop general design procedures for the multiplexers with complex impedance terminations allowing any number of channel filters with arbitrary frequency-separated bandwidths. Using a relationship between a special factorization of the even part of an individual channel input impedance and the desired reflection coefficient, the z-parameters of its augmented two-port network can be found. Necessary and sufficient conditions for extracting the load impedance from its augmented two-port network and general design procedures for a multiplexer are given
