Abstract :
An effective carrier frequency estimation method of MPSK signals based on symbol and carrier united synchronization is introduced. The carrier frequency and the symbol rate of MPSK signal are estimated roughly without the prior knowledge of the received signals. Then the symbol timing information is extracted with the wavelet transform, Based on symbol timing, the carrier frequency can be estimated accurately. The frequency offset can be limited to 0.5Hz when the SNR is no less than 5dB. Simulation results show that the proposed method can adapt to the high-order phase modulation signals of variable bit rate, with good statistical properties, quick synchronization and high accuracy.
