Batteries for new concepts of electrical systems in passenger cars

When forced to redesign the electrical network of future passenger cars because of new demands on electrical energy, the opportunity should be taken to think about how new degrees of freedom in battery design could be used to raise the reliability of the whole system. The author discusses the battery and related components requirements for such a future passenger car. They conclude that the whole electrical system and not just individual parts, should be improved
