Abstract :
In complex networks, such as electrical power grids, their properties depend on their interconnection topology. This paper studies the relationship between interconnection topology and power flows in power grids, and shows that by altering the interconnection topology one can alter the loadability of the grid. This has significance both in terms of the cost of a network and in terms of its robustness to cascading failure.
