Abstract
We study the combination of the just noticeable difference (JND) threshold with the probability of correct detection for each embedded bit, in the simplified context of fixed amplitude modulation. We show that we can theoretically calculate the minimum number of coefficients that need to be modulated in order to satisfy both visibility and reliability constraints. A method-dependent empirical capacity can be derived straightforwardly
